We are excited to spotlight an incredible achievement by our alumni, who recently shared inspiring news about their collaboration with Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret, Kenya. Their groundbreaking work in prosthetics is making a significant impact on the lives of patients in need.

A Life-Changing Decision
During this impactful visit, they encountered a young man who lost his leg in a tragic car accident over a year ago. Faced with a heartrending choice between funding for a prosthetic leg or his college tuition, he made the courageous decision to prioritize his education. This story emphasizes the challenges many individuals face and highlights the critical need for accessible prosthetic care.

Successful Collaborations and Alumni Impact
The efforts of our alumni, supported by Rijndam Revalidatie and the FAST University Fund, led to the successful fitting of two patients with prosthetic sockets using donated pylons and feet. Their innovative prosthetic socket software tool was put to the test in a real clinical environment, showcasing its potential to transform personalized patient care.
The collaboration with clinicians at MTRH proved invaluable, providing essential insights that helped refine their approach and ensure that solutions genuinely meet patient needs.

Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this remarkable achievement, we extend our deepest gratitude to our alumni for their dedication and impactful work in the field of prosthetics. We eagerly anticipate sharing more updates from Eldoret and continuing our mission to enhance accessibility for those in need.

Stay tuned for our upcoming updates, and let’s honor the spirit of innovation, resilience, and community together!
