We are thrilled to share our recent experience at the FIGO World Congress, where we had the opportunity to connect with fellow professionals in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology. This event was not just about showcasing research; it was an exciting journey of networking and addressing pressing challenges in maternal and neonatal health.

Building Connections

During the conference, we engaged in deep discussions with OB-GYNs, midwives, and health system specialists from around the globe. These conversations were inspiring and served as a reminder of the collective commitment to improve healthcare access and quality. The exchange of ideas and experiences helped us gain valuable insights into the necessity for innovation in medical technology and healthcare practices.

Addressing Critical Challenges

One of the key themes we encountered was the urgent need to tackle significant issues such as postpartum hemorrhage and the training of healthcare providers. As we presented our research—focusing on enhancing training tools for vacuum-assisted delivery and cesarean sections—we received constructive feedback that will guide our future projects.

Our visit to the UCT MedTec lab also opened our eyes to the groundbreaking applications of 3D printing in healthcare. This innovative technology has the potential to revolutionize how we approach training and medical procedures, especially in low- and middle-income countries.

Looking Forward

The FIGO World Congress reinforced our belief in the power of collaboration. We look forward to continuing these conversations and building partnerships that will drive forward advancements in maternal and newborn health. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the challenges we face in healthcare.

Thank you to everyone who made this event such a success! We are excited to bring these insights back to our work and keep the dialogue going.
