We were honored to welcome Dr. Gnanaraj Jesudian, a pioneering urologist from India, as a guest lecturer in our Fundamentals of Biomechanical Engineering course.

Dr. Gnanaraj is internationally renowned for his groundbreaking work in gasless laparoscopic surgery, a technique that brings safe, affordable, and minimally invasive surgical care to rural and underserved communities—from the tribal regions of India to hospitals in Malawi and Uganda.

With over 100,000 surgeries performed and 74+ rural hospitals empowered, his mission is clear: make modern surgery accessible to all, regardless of geography or income.

His lecture inspired our biomedical engineering students to harness their creativity and technical skills to tackle real-world challenges in global health. 🌐💙

Thank you, Dr. Gnanaraj, for showing us how innovation, compassion, and engineering can transform lives.
