We are excited to share that members of our lab recently participated in the GROW in Research community event, held in Elspeet, Netherlands. This annual gathering brought together researchers from Dutch universities and international partners to reflect, connect, and learn collaboratively about pressing global challenges.

Highlights of the Event

The focus of this year's event was on interdisciplinary, intersectoral, and international (Triple-I) research. Our team had the opportunity to engage with thought leaders and explore innovative solutions addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). From discussions on decentralized energy systems in Ethiopia to maternal health in Malawi, the presentations showcased diverse perspectives on how research can drive meaningful impact.

One of the standout moments was Thea Hilhorst's keynote speech, which emphasized the importance of maintaining sustainable development amid global negotiations. Her insights reinforced our commitment to co-creation and long-term collaboration in our research efforts.

Strengthening Our Network

Participating in the GROW in Research event allowed our lab to reaffirm the value of joint learning and equitable partnerships. We are proud to be part of a global network of engaged researchers, NGOs, and government officials dedicated to improving health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries.

As we move forward, we look forward to leveraging the insights gained from this event to enhance our ongoing projects and collaborations. Together, we can continue making strides toward a healthier, more equitable world.
